Collectively, the Modern Gypsies have worked, volunteered, lived in, and traveled to over 45 countries. Despite their countless escapades, however, they have never embarked on an adventure quite like what Expedition Impossible entailed.
Expedition Impossible tested the limits of the Modern Gypsies while they competed against 12 other teams racing across the unrelenting terrains of Morocco. The Modern Gypsies aren’t just interested in the adrenaline rush that comes with adventure; they travel around the world to try and make a difference in the lives of individuals and communities they encounter.
Their mission is to awaken the compassionate adventurer in each person by raising awareness, generating funds and working to expose and address the challenges faced by impoverished communities.
The Gypsies have been inspired by each destination they have traveled to and are initiating a movement to inspire individuals to explore themselves and the world around them.
The Modern Gypsies completed their first Compassionate Adventure in Ecuador in 2012. With their Adopt a Village model, Free the Children works holistically to change the systems in which problems are rooted so that change is sustainable and authentic. This organization is inspiring young people everywhere to develop as socially conscious global citizens, become agents of change for other children around the world and awaken their inner compassionate adventurers.
