Gypsy Spontaneity

posted in: Buddies, Expedition Impossible, Inspiration

Expedition Impossible is over! What do you do after competing in one of the most epic adventures ever filmed for television and win?! Party! The finale was one of the best nights of my life. One none of us will ever forget. Spent with our bros on No Limits, our families, and over 650 of the coolest friends, fans, and supporters I’ve ever been around! Everyone wore stick on mustaches. We felt right at home. Together we raised over $25,000 dollars towards our charities No Barriers and Free the Children. The show ended, the world finally knew our secret and we had a ton of fun. Now I owe just about every one I know a celebratory beer! Shooter doing a huge gainer in Morocco

If you ever need to be inspired, take a car ride with Shooter.

Shooter is one of the bad asses who planned most of the course we ran in Morocco! He tested the course over and over again for months before we ever landed and is one of the toughest dudes I know. Shooter holds a special place in our hearts as we actually met him in the Sahara desert on the way to the starting line of Expedition Impossible. All the support vehicles were full and he jumped in our Explorer. He didn’t know it at the time but amidst all the cameras, helicopters, and Hollywood bullshit, he inspired us to be true to ourselves and run this race our way.

It’s Sunday after the finale and time to go home. We catch a ride from Boulder to the airport with Shooter. We are all bummed to be separating. We’ve got big plans for our next compassionate adventure and don’t want to unplug from the positive energy and creative vibe we share. In a true Modern Gypsy moment of spontaneous adventure, we decide to change all of our flights to San Francisco! Our plan is to spend the week together in San Fran, bang out the nuts and bolts of our next adventure, get in front of as many important people as possible, meet with potential sponsors, do a ton of interviews, and celebrate some more.

The most unexpected yet coolest part of the trip was getting to speak to a room full of 3rd and 4th graders from the Harvey Milk Civil Rights Academy. Translating our adventures into kid language was a lot of fun and something we haven’t done much of. “And then we rode big, mean, camels across the Sahara desert. Their breath smelled terrible!” They were so excited to make a connection with us, they would raise their hands before they thought of a question! What a wonderful experience interacting with children and teaching them about teamwork, education, and to never giving up! We high fived everyone in the room!

I love the gypsies more than anyone else does.
Reading that blog made me so jealous
I wish I could meet the gypsies.
After weeks since the finale, I missed the gypsies and no limits
At least I have a type of connection to them
